Will I make it after all?

All week long I have been wondering if I will actually make the April spending challenge that I started. At the beginning of the week I was planning on getting baked beans, veggies, milk and other things from the Cub sale + the normal things a person needs every week. I didn't really see how I would make it and still get the things that I was wanting for my stockpile.

As it turns out I shouldn't have wondered. God just seems to provide more and more each day. There is a $1/1 coupon for the new style of baked beans so I will be able to get 40 of them for free (if my coupons get here by tomorrow.)

My new plan was to do the milk deal 3 times and also get a case of green beans as this is the only veggie I can get Noah to eat. Well, they are out of regular green beans and only have French cut left so I was able to get a raincheck for them and will pick them up at some later point when there is a little more room in the pantry and $ in my budget.

All I ended up getting today was:

1 can Bush's grilling beans $.99
1 Cub 2pk milk $6.18
1 box Carnation instant breakfast $4.49?

After coupons it was $1.97

I was going to use my free milk coupon, but my total was only $2.97? so I used a $1/1 gallon of milk peelie instead. She wanted to ask CS about the free milk coupon and then I realized my total was less then $4.50 so decided to save it so I would hopefully be able to get the overage later.

I think that even if I do the milk deal two more times and end up saving my free milk coupon for later I would still have enough for the rest of the week. I can't really remember what else I was going to buy except for price matching the oranges at SuperWalmart for $1.59 per 4lb.

Total $1.97
Total spending for the month:$61.31 +$10 OYNO at Cub
Total left to spend:$13.69

What did she buy today?

Nothing, but...Jason needed bread so I sent him to the store for it. He got two 24 oz loaves of wheat bread with the coupon the in the Cub book. $4.50. Seems like a lot of $ for just bread compared to how far I can usually stretch $5. It will last a couple of weeks though so it's not a big deal.

Total $4.50
Total spending for the month:$59.34 +$10 OYNO at Cub
Total left to spend:$15.66

Weekly list

Not sure how much I'll get done before I head to bed, but at least this will be a start. I know I have said it before, but the more I have stockpiled the less I notice as a good deal. Sorry if I miss something great. It might just mean I have a similar product coming out of my ears.

If you are planning on going to the movies it could turn out to be a good deal. There aren't many coupons out there for the products listed. If you are thinking about doing this deal stop at Customer Service and pick up a complete list of all the products. I grabbed on yesterday thinking Noah could look at it while I shopped. Spending update

I did really well last week with not spending much. I don't think I spend any really money after Sunday last week.

I did use an expired ECB at CVS on Thursday. Just an FYI the CVS in Chanhassen will take expired ECBs no matter how old. They had told me that a while ago, so I tested it on Thursday and the lady was great. I had a $15 ECB that was about a month old and she took it no problem. I must admit I didn't do too while spending it. No great deals here except for my last item.

This is what I got with my $15

Scott 12pk of toilette paper $5.99
20 oz A&W $1.39
Deli express sandwich $1.99
Lays sour cream and onion chips $3.49
Tropicana fruit squeeze $1.29
Welchs 14oz grape juice $1.49
Contour glocous monitor $14.99

Total $30.63

The Supervise let me use my contor coupon that expired on 3-31 so the meter was free!
I also used my $15 ECB and paid $.64 OOP. I wasn't thinking but should have used my CVS card instead. Oh well

The meter printed out another $14.99 ECB so in reality everything cost a total of $.64

I went to Cub yesterday. I didn't do too well here either. I was tired and hungry so I wasn't really thinking that clear.

2 Kraft Ranch dressing 24 oz $1.50 each
1 Hidden Valley dressing $1.83
Bib lettus for lettuse wrapps $1.49
2 Ortega refried beans $1 each
Cub olives $1.18
Carlita 10oz Taco shells $.89
Total before coupons $10.45

Used
$.75/1 Kraft
$1/1 Hidden Valley
$1 off Produce WYB 2 Kraft dressings
$1/2 Ortega products
Total$6.70

Not that great, but we were getting low on dressing and the kraft to go packs expire in Aug. These dressings are good until Dec so we should be set for Ranch for quite a while.

I did order coupons for the Bush's beans. I am also going to be ordering a couple more coupons before the end of the month. I had a little $ in my PayPal account so for now I am not planning on adding this into the total. I think I might reevaluate it next month if I do this again.

Total spent $7.34
Total spending for the month:$54.84 +$10 OYNO at Cub
Total left to spend:$20.16

Cub 2pk milk and Carnation iInstant Breakfast

I'm going to be working on the list tonight, but I wanted to post this while I had the link.

In the Cub ad is a coupon for the 2 pk of milk $4.98? plus another coupon for free Carnation Instant Breakfast. Here is a link for $2/1 Carnation. I think that if you should be able to use both coupons together because one is a Cub coupon and one is a MF. It will probably depend upon your cashier because it is an overage issue, but I've only ever been denied an overage once at Cub. This would make it $2.98 for two gallons of milk and one package Carnation Instant Breakfast.

If anyone has free milk coupons from last weeks deal you should be able to use them along with the $4.98 Cub coupon. I think they would take the whole $4.50 off so it would be $.48 for the two gallons. If you add in the IP for Carnation there would be an overage on the whole thing. I don't know how many coupons you can print, as I haven't printed mine out yet. Just wanted to post before I lost the link and couldn't find it tonight when I needed it.

Free Bush's Grillin Beans @ Cub

There was a coupons for $1/1 new Bush's Grillin Bean in this weeks paper. They are on sale this week for $.99 at Cub. I haven't tried them yet, but they look just like the regular bakes beans, just in new flavors. They cans are 22 oz instead of 24 oz also.

Most of the coupon sites are out of these already. The Coupon Master still has them for $.12 each. I just bought some off ebay. I did Buy it Now on two different auctions, 20 coupons for $1. I was able to combine shipping for I got a total of 40 coupons for $3.16 including shipping. Most auctions with Buy It Now are running $2 for 20 coupons, so check around and see what you find.
