So here there, everywhere it seems people have been asking me, "So, your not blogging anymore?" It seems that lots of you have been checking, and starting to wonder if I am ever coming back.

Well, I'm back. I took much of the summer off from couponing, but am realizing that I have been spending more then I want to so I am getting back into the swing of things again.

I'll try to start blogging regularly about what I am finding, but 2 kids, minus 1 laptop (still haven't replaced the one that died in May) equals very little time on the computer for me.

Here are just a few of the things that I found for this week.

Rainbow has BOGO Fiber One, and YO-Plus Yogurt 4pks, -2 $1/1=2/$.59
There are also BOGO MF from the back of Fiber One cereal boxes. Check your stash of cereal to see if you have any.

Also, I've heard that starting on Saturday the Trib will be selling early edition Sunday papers for $.50. These should have all the same coupons as the regular Sunday paper, just $1.75 cheaper.

So I've been really lax about updating since my laptop died. We still haven't gotten a new one, but I must admit I don't really mind. I am enjoying summer so haven't really been thinking of blogging much. I haven't been couponing much either. We have been out of town a lot which makes it harder to keep up with everything.

I do want to get back at it though. I thought maybe a good step would be to start with the menu for this week. I had started posting out menu awhile ago, but faltered as my due date grew closer. I was asked again yesterday, "if we had to eat really strange stuff?", so thought this was as good a place as any. Plus, it's probably the easiest thing to do. ;)

Great IP Coupons available

There are some really good Kraft printables available right now. Too many to list them out, but they are on Coupons.com, Couponbug.com, and also at kraftfoods.com.

One of the best deals right now is to print the $1/1 Kraft BBQ sauce coupon then use it at Cub. They are on sale for $.89 plus there is a Cat to go with them;
buy 4 get $2
buy 5 get $2.50
buy 6 or more get $3.

If you buy 6 you should have $3.66 in overage after the coupons and the OYNO .

There is also a good deal on Kraft Mac-N-Cheese. It should be $.75 per box, with a B3G1 free coupons here. Pear that with the Cat that is printing through the Cat that is printing though the end of the month;

Buy 5 & get $1.50 or
Buy 6 or more & get $2.00 coupon off your next shopping order.

It works out the best if you buy 5 and use one of the IPs. It should be $.30 per box after the coupon and the OYNO Cat.

There are more $1/1 Wild Harvest coupons available also. They have 9oz baby carrots for $1.29 this week. Another great deal is the baby food. Stage 2 are $.89 everyday. In EP they self adjust so there is never a question about being able to use the coupon. I'm wishing I would have known about this earlier so I could have been stocking up for Grace.

There is a $1/2 Campbells IP. Chicken Noodle and Tomato are on sale at Rainbow for $.48 with the in ad coupon, limit 4. Makes them free with $0.04 overage for each two you buy. Can also be added into your $25 doubles plan.

My Laptop Died

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm not going to be able to update very often for a while. My laptop die last Friday so I am having to use Jason's. It works, but is hard to find a time where he doesn't need it and I have a chunk of time to spend on updating. Hopefully soon we'll get it figured out and I will have more time on the computer. I'll try to still get at least one update each week until we get me a new one.

Highlights of the week

I want to work on a list, but just in case is doesn't get done I'm posting some of the highlights for the week.

Target
There is a new IP coupon for $1 off 1lb or more of bulk apples. There are two kinds of apples on sale this week for $.99 per lb so apples are free when you buy them 1lb at a time.

Cub
There is a $1/1 MF for Fresh Express salad in the Cub coupon book right now. This week there are varieties on sale for $1.25 before the coupon which makes it 1/$.25 after the MF.

Check out the front half page section of your Cub add. Some of the things that stand out to be are the;

The Cub pasta is a good deal also if you like it. I prefer Barilla so I don't think I'll be getting any this week.

There are supposedly peelie coupons in store on some of the Old El Paso products that sweeten the B3G$1, B6G$3 deal. I haven't been shopping yet this week so can't really report on those, but keep an eye out.

If you like Powerade check Holiday gas statations for $.75/2 tearpad coupons. They match up with the B10G5 free MF in this weeks at. It works out to be 15/$5.25 or $.35 per bottle with the tearpad coupons.

Just wanted to let everyone know there is a great coupon in the Sunday paper this week so don't throw it out before grabbing the coupon!

On the back page of the Variety/A&E section of the Star Tribune there is a $2/1 Golden Plump Chicken coupon. This is a great coupon. It can be used together with the BOGO Cub coupons that are frequently in the cub ad.

If for some strange reason you don't happen to want your coupon, let me know. I would be happy to trade you or pay you for it. :)

I'm starting to wonder if I will actually end up with extra at the end of the month. I spent a lot this past week on milk and cereal which has upped my total. I wasn't expecting that. I have enough milk in the fridge for the rest of the month and 6 more coupons for next month. That's almost enough milk to last through the end of May. If they do the twin pack deal again next month then I'll be able to double my milk into 12 gallons. When you look at it that way it seems worth it to have gotten so much cereal/milk this week.

I'm starting the April budget. Hopefully I'll be able to stay on track and actually finish it this month.

I'm thinking I might actually be able to end up under budget this month. My pantry is full to the gills and I am thinking it is time to start using up some of the things that are in there. I'm kind of hoping there aren't that many good sales this month cause I don't have much space to put them.

Also this month I am going to track and post how much I spend on extra coupons. I don't usually order many extras, but I thought it might be good to keep track of how much money is going into that and might be interesting for all of you to see when and where to get extra coupons.

Clothes Mentor

Kind of random and probably just for the ladies, but I got an ad from Clothes Mentor yesterday say that they are celebrating their first birthday and everyone gets 30% off all regular price items (except designer hand bags).

For those of you who don't know, Clothes Mentor is a woman's version of Once Upon A Child. You bring in your used clothes and accessories, and they will pay you cash on the spot for the items they want. It's located off of 394/494 in Minnetonka right between OUAC and TRU.

Their prices seem pretty reasonable and they have a nice selection of mid to high end clothing. If your thinking about checking them out, pack up some old clothes and bring them in when you go. They are a little picky, but do pay pretty well. I've gotten around $8 for pants and skirts and a little less for tops.

They didn't have a specific website, but here is the address for the location having the sale.

Overage on Post cereal at Cub

Cub is offering a Cat for buy 5 Post cereal (over 10oz) get $5 OYNO. Post Trail Mix Crunch is on sale for $2.50 this week. There is a $2/1 IP here. If you use 5 coupons your total will be $2.50 and you will get a $5 OYNO back. Your able to print at least 3 coupons per computer, but some people are reporting that they have been able to get 4.

I haven't tried it yet so I have no idea if the cereal is any good, but I figure if they will pay me $2.50/5 I can just bring it to the food shelf. Might be something to consider if you don't really want the cereal, but won't mind an extra $2.50

Grace Elizabeth

So it's been a little while since I've posted. As many of you know my family has been expecting baby girl Gudim April 4.

I went in for my regular OB about a week and a half ago and again measured much smaller then I should be. After an Ultrasound it was determined that baby's fluid level was too low and I needed to be induced sooner rather then later. We went in last Tuesday morning and Grace Elizabeth Gudim was born Tuesday afternoon.

We came home Thursday afternoon and have spent the week getting adjusted to having another person in the family.

Grace is doing great. She was born at 5lbs, 5oz and dropped to 4lbs, 12oz by the time we came home. At her check up today she was back up to 5lbs, 4.8oz. Her doctor was quite impressed that she gained 1/2 a lb in such a sort time.

I'm probably going to be taking a break from posting for the next week or two. If there is something superb I'll try to get on and post.

Old Navy coupons

Old Navy has a coupon give away going on each week on their site. I just found out about it this afternoon, so I don't have a lot of details yet, but wanted to give everyone a heads up.

It seems like they are offering some great coupons online through their weekly ad site. They are hidden in the site and you need to scroll over them then click to see what the coupon is for.

The offers range from
$75/$100 purchase -yes that is posted correctly
$50/$100
20% off
15% off
10% off
5% off

Once you find a coupon you will be able to print it from your computer and use it in store. There is a very limited # of $75/$100. I think it might be 1000.

I'm not sure if you find and print one coupon if you will be allowed to keep looking for a better coupon. Someone had said it was a limit of one coupon, but it wasn't clear if it was one of each type or one total per computer.

The new coupons reset this evening sometime, 3-12-09. I guess last week they reset around 7:00pm eastern time.

Huggies IPs have reset

Basically the title says it all. The Huggies $3/1 and $5/1 have reset. If you printed them last week you should be able to print them again. Also try printing at coupons.com and also at couponbug.com. I was able to print a second set there even though I was maxed out at coupons.com.

There is a change in the wording on the new set of coupons. Instead of Gentle Care or Natural Fit "product" it now says "diaper." This means that the coupons are ONLY valid on the diapers now. I know that it's been nice to get the wipes with the $5 coupons, but make sure you watch which set of coupons you are using if you plan on getting more wipes. I know I will have to try and keep them separate so that I don't use the ones valid on the wipe on diapers when I finally find some at WG. I want to save those and get more wipes with them at Target.

Also, just an FYI; I did try the small tub of wipes last night at Target. They were $2.39? or something like that. I was wondering if we would be allowed overage on them. The coupon did beep, but it was K1'd so everything went fine. Personally, I'm going to need lots of wipes so I don't plan on wasting the $5 IPs on little tubs, but it is nice to know if you are looking for some overage that it will probably work. Just make sure to get the wipe bags or tubs labled "Gentle Care" so that they match the coupon.

I'm stocking up on things like diapers and wipes for baby. I know when I started the blog I was including most of the H&B items into the $85 grocery budget, but for now I've decided to keep these separate. I haven't been doing CVS or WG for months and that is were most of the free H&B items come from.

I do want to track how much I end up spending on baby though, and I also thought it might give some of you good ideas on cheap baby items in case I forget to highlight what I find in another post.

Here is where things get strange because for some reason I my gift card was deducted for two transactions although I only bought one lotion. Although my OOP was only $1.37 I lost another $1.37 along the way so it's like I paid 2.74 and received $2 RR. I just realized this and although it's a small difference, I kind of feel cheated because I worked hard to build up my overage.

In the end I still have $5.39 on one gift card and $14.21 on the other for a total of $19.60. I also have an one $8, 2 $3.50, and 7? $2 RR. It's either 7-8 I just can't remember right now. I know I have just over/under $50 between the gift cards and the RR.

So my total spent on gift cards was $13.52, plus the mysterious $1.37 deduction for a total of $14.89. If I have $29 in RR what means I am up $14.11 overall.

I admit it did take a lot of time and energy, but I only stopped at WG what were on the way to there places I was going so it didn't use extra gas and the shopping part of the process didn't really take all that long.

Just wanted post that I found a IP for Mott's products. Right now Target have a printable coupon for $1/1 any 4 or 6pk applesauce. The IP should be for $.55/1. Price checking the applesauce was $1.67 at Shakopee and $1.87 in Chaska. Using both coupons it would range from $.12 to $.32 per 6pk.

Cheap or free London Broil at Super Target

On the bottom of the Sunday Trib there is an ad for Super Target. One of the items listed if London Broil for $1.99 per lb. It sounds like most packages are aright around 1 lb.

There is a new Target coupon (TC) for $2 per package of Sutton & Dodge steak or roast. Pairing the coupon with the sale means lots of free or cheap meat.

Jason checked the Chaska ST this evening. They were completley out and had taken down the sign. We are headed to Savage tonight and will report back on the amount of stock. Make sure to get a raincheck if your store if is out.

As a side note, Target had a deal like this a few years ago on chuck steak. We got a bunch and froze it. They tend to do alright if you want to freeze them in the store packaging, but found that you could generally fit two pieces side by side in a one gallon zip bag and it would take up a lot less space in the freezer. Just a tip for those of you planning on getting LOTS.

GREAT Huggies IP coupons

This weekend I came across some great Huggies IP. The first is for $5/1 Huggies Gentle Care and the second is $3/1 Huggies Natural fit diapers. Each can be printed twice per computer.

There seem to be a lot of different links out there for these coupons, but so far I have only been able to print 2 total of each coupon no matter how many links I find.

The $5 coupon if good for any Gentle Care item. The diapers in this style only go up to size 2, but they also make wipes, rash cream, and changing pads

For the $3 coupon the diaper sizes are 3 and up.

March Budget

I really want to try and start the month out right and keep up to date with the budget this month. I'm sure it will depend on if "baby" comes this month, but at least I am off to a good start.

I ended last month about $7 over budget, but still had a $10 OYNO at Cub. Slightly over budget, but not too bad being until baby comes and gets a little bigger I am planning in my head that we won't really be able to stick to the $85 each month. I've been doing pretty good, but it is a little impractical when I have to depend on someone to go shopping with me each time. It can be a lot to ask of people.

I have an awful cold and needed some honey to put in my tea so I went out to Target yesterday morning. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that Ortega taco seasoning was $.47. I knew I has $1/2 coupons so I brought those along. Here is what I ended up with:

We decided to head back to Cub on Saturday night and grab some more soup. All in all we got 30 more cans of soup and another 2 gallons of milk. The grand total for the three transactions was $10.78. I rolled the $10 OYNO and still have one left to use. All in all that puts me at;

It looks like the Kmarts in our area are doing double coupons again this week. They will double MF coupons up to $2 in face value. I didn't read all the fine print, but the only things that really stood out to me where;

#1 Only 4 like coupons doubled at a time.
#2 Limit of 25 coupons doubled per day.
# No IP coupons will be doubled.

I'm not sure if I will be able to make it out this time or not. We'll just have to wait and see. If I go I'll try to post an update about what things are free or great deals. I'm sure if you head over to Hotcouponworld.com or Afullcup.com there will be some sort of list about what is free or what you should be getting.

Free Arby's Roast Burger

Looks like today is the day of "free" internet finds. This one is for a Free Arby's Roast Burger with the purchase of ANY drink. I would assume that you could order a small pop for around $1 and then get the sandwich for free. Looks like a pretty nice sandwich too considering it is free.

Free Quiznos Sub

Quiznos is giving away 1 Million subs. All you need to do is enter your info and they will send you an email with a coupon to print. You can get a free "small" Everyday Value, or Signature Classics sub with no other purchase necessary.

I was able to sign up with each email I have access to so we have plenty for now. :) Make sure to check your Junk or Spam folder. That is where they came to for my Gmail account. They came just to the regular inbox for Yahoo and Juno. Not sure about MSN cause I haven't gotten it there yet.

The coupon expired 5 days from when it is sent. I didn't really think of this so all mine expire on Friday, but I was hoping to use this this weekend. Oh well, free is free right?

I've been putzing (sp) on the internet this afternoon and came across two different code for JCPenny's.

The first is an online only code to save $10 off any $10 purchase or more. I haven't tried it yet because I haven't found anything instock that I wanted, but it is reported to be working still.

At checkout enter REWARD into the "promotion code" box and it should deduct $10 from your total.

There is also a $5 off any $5 purchase or more coupon. You do need to sign up for this, but it comes as a printable coupon and can be used in store of online. In order to get the $5 you will need to sign up for JCP Rewards. It's Penny's free rewards program that they started this fall.

Sign up here, and enter 3050 into the "promotional code" box. When you hit submit it will ask for your credit card info so they can track how much you spend and you can earn future rewards. YOU DO NOT NEED TO ENTER A CREDIT CARD. If you don't want to give them your info simply clip "log out" at the top of the page. If you log back in it should show that you have a $5 reward waiting to be printed.

If you don't enter your credit info you won't be able to earn rewards by shopping at Penny's, but may still receive promotional emails and rewards from them. I chose not to enter my info for now, but may add it later.

We were able to do ten rounds in just over an hour and a half. I was pretty pleased with that being it usually takes much longer then that with this type of deal. We did a set of 3 transaction, 4 transaction, and then another 3 transactions.

The one thing I was disappointed in was that when my coupons came in the mail yesterday the fruit snack coupons were only good on Betty Crocker Fruit Roll-up Fruit Stackers fruit snacks. I had read the description on the website wrong and thought that they would be good on Betty Crocker Fruit Roll-ups, Fruit Stackers, or Fruit Snacks. Not a huge issue, but a I was looking forward to some Gushers and thought Noah would have had fun picking out different types of fruit snacks.

I realize that I am quite behind in any type of posting. It just seems to take more effort then I have right now with baby. She will be here soon though and then slowing I am hoping things will pick up again. I miss blogging and I miss knowing I'm able to help some of you save some money.

I'm going to attempt a budget run down for the month. I really don't get out much right now so we really haven't bought a ton this month. Lots of milk from Rainbow when it was on sale, and then last night Jason took me out and we got some things that are on sale this week.

I think I got everything that we've picked up. It's good that I was able to get everything written down because I thought that we had only spent about $35-$40 instead of just over $50. Right now it is harder for me to get out and harder to cook so I am a little more inclined to spend more on easy to prepare meals. My goal is still $85 each month, but I feel like in reality it will end up being closer to $100.
Another thing is we've bought enough milk for the rest of the month already, but I'll have Jason get some this coming week because Cub has their twin packs on sale for $3.28 with in ad coupon. This will mean cheap milk for the first few weeks on next month, even though the cost will be part of this months total.

Cub $10/$100 plan update

Cub is having a 3 Day sale on their 3lb bags of frozen chicken breast. They are $4.99.

Being I still have $8 something to make it to my $100 I am planning on grabbing 2 of these for the chicken instead of finding small packs of chicken for around $2. That means I will be able to use the 3 $2 off chicken coupons from buying the Kraft dressing on them.

It will add in 9lbs of chicken breast and bring my pre-coupon total to $100.77. My post coupon, post $10/$100 total should come out to be $17.81 if everything works the way it should.

I am a little nervous about using so many kraft coupons at a time, and about using more then one of the MF in ad coupons also. We'll have to see how it goes. I'll try to post what I end up with. Hopefully they aren't out of things like the OJ and stuff like that. Also hoping I can bring the $1/1 Keebler cracker IP. I haven't tried yet, but Jason wasn't able to print it from work so we'll have to see.

Last week Cub and Holiday ran a dual promotion that if you bought 12 gallons of gas you received a coupon for $10/$100 at Cub. The coupon is good through Saturday. I've been thinking about what to get and how to make it to the $100 mark without actually spending much OOP.

I thought that it might be helpful if I posted my plan. That way if any of you have are looking for ideas you can see what I am planning on doing and what the actual OOP will be.

The $100 is pre-coupon if you give the $10/$100 coupon first. This is helpful to know being there are some BOGO coupons in the new Cub book.

I was in Eden Prairie last weekend and stopped at Cub. I asked about their expired coupon policy and was told that they take expired MF coupons for up to 5 MONTHS past the date. This is great news if you are like me and always seem to have some really good coupons that don't seem to get used. It's also bad news if you are like me and already have more coupons then you know what to do with and are now faced with the decision on what to do with an extra 2 months worth of expired coupons. Alright, everyone in my house has been asleep for hours and I really want someone to share all my great baby finds from this morning. Looks like I turn to the web.

So, off and on I talk about the great deals I find at CAP, the community thrift store in town. Today was 50% price day and I found some really nice things.

Most of it will be going to OUAC, but there is a nice pile for baby girl, and a few things for Noah as well.

I wanted to show it off to someone because I'm excited to find such nice things for baby so I took some pictures. Yes, I'm actually going to post pictures. For those who know me well, you probably think it is absurd that I haven't done this before. Yep, the girl with the photography degree and two big fancy cameras doesn't post pictures. The worst part of it is that tonight's pictures are from my cell phone. You'll just have to bare with me, as the pics aren't that great. Everyone was sleeping so I didn't want to go trying to find a chair in the dark and pull my camera off the shelf in the closet.

This is what I found today.
I know the pictures aren't that great, but at least if will give you an idea. You'll have to trust me that things look much cuter in person. Looking at it now the only things that still look good are the little white GAP dress and the Charter's jean and t-shirt outfit.

Everything was $.50 except for the little pink coat which was $1. All in all I spent $11.50 on her today. Most of the items are Charters or Oshkosh. There are maybe 3-4 Gap pieces and then the rest is a mix of other brands. The first picture is newborn, the next two are O-3M, the two after that are 3-6M, and finally the last two are 9M with the pair of Sketcher khaki pants being 12M.

Hopefully this will encourage some of you to head over and check out CAP. Kids clothes are regularly $1, with the Tween size pants $2. All kids coats, snow pants, boots, and shoes are $2. They have adult sizes also, but it is harder to find high quality, good condition clothes in the adult sizes.

They have an advertised 50% off day once a month, but often have sales thought the month on random days. It depends on how much is donated and if the racks are getting too full. It's not uncommon for them to have a $.50 sale where ALL shoes, and clothing (including outerwear) are $.50.

They will also have a book sale once in a while. Put as many books in a bag as you want for only $1. Over the past two years I've found beautiful pop-up books, story books, educational books, coloring books, books that make sounds, and more. Noah has a great love for books, and I think it is because I've been able to get him so many wonderful books of all kinds over the past two years.

Free all day wrist bands for Mall of America rides

Today I figured out how to get free wrist bands for the amusement part at the Mall of America. I'm feeling rather proud of myself so this one, but I am sure there are people all over the Twin Cities who realized how to do this a month ago.

Here's the deal...

From November 27 through December 24, TOMORROW, MOA is giving away two free all day wrist bands to anyone who brings in a total of $250 in receipts spent anyway at the mall. Some of you are probably thinking, "Man I've spent that much and more." well others are thinking, "$250 for a couple of wrist bands, come on Esther, where the deal." Here's the wonderful little catch I learned today to make this a great deal.

On the lower lever of the West end, (Right under Rybicky Cheese and Best Buy) there is a Holiday convenance store. Yep, just like the gas station, but with fake pumps outside instead of real. At the store you can buy giftcards good at all Holiday locations. Simply buy $250 in giftcards, take right next door to the mall custmer service desk and ask for your free passes.

I realize you still need to put out $250, but everyone uses gas. Even we spend over $250 on gas each month with all Jason's driving to school. This is a great way to earn a little extra bonus on something that you usually don't get a discount for.

I haven't rested it with just one reciept for a $250 giftcard. My dad bought 2 $50 giftcards this afternoon to round out his $250 needed for the wristbands and had no problems at all. He recieved a reciept for the wrist bands. It can be redeemed at the park for the bands. The one slight catch is that it expires at the beginning of March so it must be used before then.

If you have a few last minute gifts left, or just want a little extra treat for buying gas head on over to the mall in the morning and grab your giftcards.

No Budget tracking for December

Well, if it hasn't happened by now, there is probably no point in starting. I was planning on posting how I spend the grocery budget like every other month, but I just isn't going to happen.

I really haven't been spending too much this month. I think about $20 so far this month. Jason has gotten most of it for my on his way home, basically when we need something extra to add for supper.

I haven't been going out much simply because it's hard to take Noah out alone with my pulled muscle. It really hasn't been so bad. I've enjoyed watching the snow fall because I haven't needed to be out in it and it's helped me think of using up my stockpile instead of adding to it so fervently.

I've pulled a few things out of the freezer, which is great because I need to use those things instead of let them become freezer burned. We also had a lot of fruit and produce in the fridge that came in a gift basket we received from church. We also haven't needed to buy milk due to the generous gift of MANY free milk coupons from Vicki Oldfather. Between the few coupons I had and all the ones she gave me we haven't had to buy milk all month. There are still 4 gallons in the fridge. Looking at the dates they should last through the end of the month.

My goal for the rest of the month is to figure out what I have in both freezers and start using it. I'm hoping to get a list made up of what types of meat I have and then start using it. I tend to leave things in the freeze for too long and then it doesn't always taste good. I want to make sure that I don't end up saving it for so long that I end up wasting it and the money that I spent on it. I'm hoping for a good response to the post about menu ideas so I'll have some fresh ideas of what to make with the food in the freezer.

I'm feeling very uncreative lately. It seems like I make the same few things over and over again. I was thinking it might be fun to have send out a call for new frugal recipes. What kinds of inexpensive dishes do you make for your family? Anyone willing to share one or two?

It could be anything you like, breakfast, dinner, snacks or desert. You can do a whole meal or just a dish. It's always fun to see what a dish will cost so you could add in approximate prices, but it's not necessary.

My thought is that you could either email them or just leave them as a comment here on the blog. I'll make a post with them so that everyone can see and get some new ideas.

I know for me, I only think about making specific dishes from certain ingredients. I know there is much more that I could be doing with my stockpile, but I just don't have the creativity most days. Hopefully some of you will share with me and add a little extra spice to my life and cooking.

I was going through my junk mail this evening and found this months email from Davanni's pizza. Every couple of months they offer a free personal pizza or $5 off anything coupon for taking a survey.

This month they have a survey about online ordering with a few other questions thrown in. I think it is 25 questions long. It took about 5 minutes to complete. At the end they ask for your address and will mail out a $5 off postcard.

Check out their online menu to see what types of things you can get with your $5. I think subs are around $5. I usually get a personal pizza for just over the $5 mark. I also tend to do take out instead of eating in with the family and spending a lot more then the $5.

I think the survey is one per computer, but I'm not sure. I used to be able to go through my email and Jason's to complete a survey for each of us, but last time it didn't let me. I'll have Jason try at work on Monday and report back how it goes.

Trying to get orginized

Today has been a pretty lazy day around here. I'm starting my evening by trying to get organized. I haven't really been keeping up on the deals. As I start looking at my fliers and online I feel like I am wading through mud trying to get everything straight.

So what are the Gudims eating this week? Well, I have a plan, but we will have to wait and see if the meals actually get made. Dinner has kind of fallen on Jason most of the time now so it's not always easy to make a real meal at 6:30 when you are tired, have a ton of homework, and need to get Noah in bed. He's going a great job though and I'm really impressed with how he just keeps going.

This is what I am thinking for supper this week. I have most of the meat out of the freezer so maybe I will be able to get it started before he gets home and he'll just need to finish it up.

Doubles at Kmart

I ended up going to Kmart on Sunday. I didn't end up with a whole lot, but it was more of a scouting trip for me then anything else. I have a great stockpile of most heath and beauty items so I don't like to spend $ on them if I know I can wait a while longer and possibly get them for free at WGs or CVS.

I went with a friend from church and her neighbor. It was fun, but we were pretty thorough. We ended up spending about 3 hours going up and down ever isle that would have products with coupons.

In the end I ended up with:

4 Fruit of the Loom tank tops. Clearance price was $.99 and I had $1/2 MF. These didn't double, but I was able to get a refund from CS.
5? Loreal eye shadow. I think the price was $3.79, -$2/1 MF
1 Gillette men's body wash $3.99, -$2/1 MF from this weeks insert
3 Johnson and Johnson's First aide. Two gause pads and a roll of tape. All under $2, -$1/1 MF
1 Life Savers bag $1.79, -$1/1
All of these were free after coupons so all I had to pay was tax.

I also got:

All in all there were some good deals to be had. Most of the free items were already gone when we got there, but I think they restocked midweek. A couple of friends went throughout the week and seemed to find much more then I did. One said that her total was over $300 before coupons and something like $120 after coupons with some items not having coupons.

I would probably go again if they offer it. I think your success will kind of depend on what you are looking for. I was personally disappointed in the amount of groceries that they offered. There was only 2 isles with groceries. One of which was only a one sided isle with candy and cereal.

Complitaion price book for Kmart Super Doubles

Twin Cities Kmarts to participate in Super Double Coupons

I happened into the Kmart forum this afternoon on Hotcouponworld. I really had no reason to be in there. I don't think that I have been in a Kmart for close to 12 years now. I noticed that they were talking about Super Doubles (SD) and read a couple of the posts. It seems like ALL Kmarts will be participating in the Super Double Coupons this coming week, November 30-Dec 6.

I checked out Kmart.com and looked at the upcoming at for the Twin Cities area. On the bottom of tomorrow's ad it shows a banner about Super Doubles. Here is a link to the Kmart ad page. It should being you right to the list of ads for the Twin Cities area tomorrow.

So, what are Super Doubles (SD)? It looks like Kmart will be doubling any MF coupon up to $2 in value. There are a few stimulation like always, but it seems like a great deal. The print on the ad is tiny, but I'll try to summarize what I can read.

1. Amount of credit from doubling a coupon cannot exceed the current retail price of a single item. Translation-No overage on items. It is is $1.79, your $1/1 coupon will double to $1.79 instead of $2.

2. No cash or in store purchase credit will be awarded for any amount exceeding the retail price of an item. Translation-You can't get cash or gift cards as an overage. Basically repeating #1.

3. Only one coupon will be doubled per item. Translation-You can only use one coupon per item, not 5. Seems simple enough right?

4. You may only purchase 4 of the same items using double coupons. Translation-There seems to be discussion on this one. It seems to mean on of two things
---1. You can only get four like items per coupon, but if the coupon is good on a couple different items say, Suave, shampoo, conditioner, and hair care, then you could get 4 of each items and double a total of 12 coupons.
---2. You can only double 4 like coupons.
Not sure which one it is being I haven't even done this before. I'll try to figure it out and update everyone when I know.

5. Excluded BOGO promotional offers. Translation-I think this is talking about BOGO sales, not BOGO coupons. I'll check on this also.

6. Coupons do not apply to sales tax. Translation-You will still have to pay tax on all the taxable items that you purchase. In MN this means if you have $100 worth of taxable items before coupons and you have $100 worth of doubled coupons you will still have to pay $6.50 because you will be charged tax on the pre-coupon amount.

7. Limit 75 coupons per customer per day. Translation-Seems pretty straight forward right? Being we have 7 days to do this lets try to stay honest and not hit 5 different Kmarts each day. :)

8. Internet coupons and copies of MF coupons are not valid. Translation-Do doubles for IPs. Copying coupons, even IPs is illegal anyway so lets hope that no one is doing that.

9. There is a little bit more down on the bottom, but I can't really make it out. Check your ad for the final details, but I think everything important is covered.

I haven't had time to do any match ups yet, but HCW has a couple of different threads where people are posting as they find deals. I'll try to spend some time on Monday and get a list going on here. It will probably just be different things that I find on the Internet being I haven't been to Kmart and probably won't be able to go till later in the week.

Star Tribune Double Bonus

Just wanted to let you all know that there is an extra bonus to buying papers today. Most of you know about the Herberger's coupon I posted about yesterday. I was looking through the paper and found that Trade Secret has another $10/$10 coupon in the paper today. It is in the B section of the Star Tribune. I can't remember the exact page it is on, but knows it's a couple of pages from the back.

This coupon has a lot less restrictions then the Herberger's coupon. It is good on any $10 or more purchase. The system won't take the coupon if you are under $10, but you can get two or three items to make it to $10 if you need to. The only other restriction I have found is that it is limit one per person. Basically, you can only use one coupon, per person, per store, per day. For me it is hard to use a bunch before they expire because I stay at home and it is hard to make a special trip just to use one coupon. I know some of you have been able to use at least 4 or more in a day before.

As a side note, the Pure Beauty in the Eden Prairie mall takes the $10/$10 coupons because it is actually a Trade Secret. They were changing names to Pure Beauty, but now are going to change back to Trade Secret, a little confussing.

Herberger's on Black Friday

Just wanted to point out that Herberger's will be having a $10/one $10 or more item in their Black Friday ad. I saw the commercial last night so I'm sure they will be doing it again.

In the past the coupon has had to be used on one item and it has had to be to $10 or over. It can't be a door buster or clearance. There are a few other restrictions on it, but I can't seem to remember them. They also exclude a few brands. I know last year Fossil and Godiva were ones that you could not use the coupon on.

Even with the restrictions there are some great deals to be had. Last year I was able to get Willow Tree figures for grandmas and aunts for only $.50. I also found some great deals in the kitchen area. It's great for things like socks, t-shirts towels and sheets and things like that too.

Last year I checked out the Herberger's web site ahead of time to get a general idea of what things the carry and what the regular price was. Here is a link if you want to do that. It helps to have an idea of what you are going for before you walk through the door.

Last year Jason went out to Holiday and bought me 15 extra papers Thanksgiving morning. It was a great investment. For $7.50 I was able to save an extra $150 off the sale price when I was shopping for Christmas presents. It makes a great way to stretch that all too small Christmas budget.

As a final note I should probably add, the commercial said that coupon would be good from 4:00am-1pm Friday morning. It does usually say something about limit one per person or per check out. In the past it has depended on the cashier if you can do a couple transactions at a time. Last year the CS lady let me use two or three at once, but other cashiers looked at me like I had committed a felony because I even possessed more then one coupon.

Well, it might have taken most of the day to figure it out, but there it is. I know I was over budget. With the great deals this month I expected it. I've also been buying a few more convenience things, i.e. rotisserie chicken. I was planning on this also knowing that I won't aways be able to make supper while I'm not feeling good.

Some months are under and some months are over. The $85 is my goal. It's great to be able to hit it each month, but thankfully the world doesn't end when I go over. Considering the state of my pantry and my mother's freezer $106.47 is an excellet total for the month. I don't plan on getting too much more. I will be getting milk with the $4.50 off coupon being the two pack is on sale for $4.98.

I have made a small trip to CVS the last two weeks. I didn't add them into the budget being I can't find the first reciept and I haven't paid anything OOP yet. I've manly been getting free after ECB items, but last week I did get 5 Welch's grape juice. It was $2.50, -$1/1 coupons. I have some gift cards I've been using so it hasn't been effecting the budget. I'll probably start adding it in again at the start of December.

A little behind

Unfortunately this post is not about my little behind. As I grow more and more pregnant my behind seems to grow more and more as well. Instead it is to admit that I seem to be falling behind with the blog. I have wonderful intentions, great thoughts of all the posts I want to make, but it seems that there just isn't ever enough time to sit on the computer and type everything out.

I woke up quite early this morning. For those who know me you understand how odd that is. Noah isn't awake yet so I think that I might be able to squeeze in a couple of posts. I hope to be able to get the monthly budget updated first. I know most of you probably don't care too much about how much I personally spend on groceries, but it really helps me know what I'm using the money on and if I'm spending more then I should.

After that I am planning on posting this weeks menu. I also want to do an abbreviated list for the week. The deals aren't that great and most of us are probably already thinking about Black Friday.

I also want to post a welcome and maybe a little bit about me and what I try to do with this crazy shopping blog that I have. People have been telling me that they've been sharing the blog with friends and co-works. I had thought that maybe about 20 new people might have come by to check it out. When I looked at my stats this morning I saw that in the past month over 240 new people have looked at the blog. Who knows how many of the new people are coming back, but it's probably time I introduce myself.

General Mills cereal deal at Cub

I don't think I will be getting a list made this week. I wanted to make sure everyone knew about the cereal deal going on this week at Cub.

If you buy 10 boxes of General Mills cereal, Betty Crocker Fruit snacks or General Mills granola bars you get 3 $5 OYNO coupons plus a coupon for $4.50 off a gallon of milk.

There were about 8 typed of cereal for $2.50 this afternoon in Shakopee. None sale prices ranged from $2.99-$4 plus.

The best way to think about the deal is to look at the price of the cereal and take $1.50 off per box to start with. After this add in any coupons you have. There are many expired $1/2 MF. This means that each box is $2 off the shelf price.

For me, I add in the price of the milk when I am thinking about the cereal. I would be buying the milk anyway so I figure how much the milk would cost me and divide that by 10 boxes of cereal. Usually I get the twin pack at Cub unless another store had milk on sale. No sale this week that I know of so that would be $6.58 for two gallons or ruffly $3.30 per gallon. Divide that by 10 for each box of cereal and you get another $.33 off per box.

I got 10 boxes today. After coupons, $15 OYNO, and deducting the cost of a gallon of milk it worked out to $2.18 for the 10 boxes, or $0.218 per box. I think the size ranged from 10.x oz to 14.x oz. Not very big boxes, but it the larger boxes were almost $2 more so this was the best use of coupons.

Also check out the Pilsbury deal. I think it is listed on the second to last page in the ad. It's buy 10 get $5 OYNO. Makes a good price for cake mix. I haven't looked too hard for coupons on that one. I'll see what I can find on Thursday when I have a little more time.

It's not very often that your budget goes up during the month instead of down. It's a good feeling. I was a little upset I had spent so much on the $30/$15 deal last week and wondering why my math had been off my so much. I knew that I had adjusted and added a few things during my trips, but I had planned to only spend about $25/$35. The $58.xx that I thought I had spent was way more thing I was thinking, but still would have been a good deal. Now I feel better knowing that I was off by $15.

"Bank Error"

Have you ever played Monopoly and gotten the Chance card that says, "Bank Error in Your Favor"?

This evening I found an error in my adding as I was doing the check book. Because of it I'm ending up with $15 more grocery money then I thought I had.

I was updating our checkbook program and found a Cub entry that didn't match up with Wellsfargo. Turns out I had entered the pre-giftcard total into the checkbook, instead of what I had actually spend. During one of the deals the $15 didn't print out so they gave me a gift card. Usually that amount would have come out under the coupons, but on this reciept the giftcard came off after the total.

When adding up how much I spent last week I added in the amount I thought I had spent on the reciept instead of the actual amount. I'll be adding the extra $15 to my budget. Makes me feel a whole lot better because I was wondering how I ended up spending so much. I had planned on $25 for last week so $58.xx after the OYNO coupons seemed really high.

All in all I make it to 4 different Cub stores this week. I did 17 different transactions for the $30/$15. I didn't seem to find much I needed in the $20/$10 section so I only ended up with 2 transactions of that.

What's the deal with Cub this week?

That's what everyone seems to want to know. What's this deal? What coupons do I need? I know it's taken a while, but I'm going to try to get it all down for you.

First, there are two different deals. The first is buy $30 of the specified products get $15 back. The $15 prints in 3 $5 OYNO coupons. The list of products is located on the inside of the half sheet. The front is an ad for Cub's new Holiday Bucks promotion.

The second is buy $20 of the specified products get $10 back. The list is on the inside of the ad, it's about a half page long.

I'm a little at a lose for how to do this, but I'll give it a hand. Please feel free to call or email if I don't answer all your questions.

There are way more coupons available then I could possible list. I gave away all the coupons that I wasn't going to use on this deal so I no longer have them to look at as I type this up. I just don't have the energy to do a data base search for all the coupons each item will have. I'll add in links to the IPs that I found and try to point out some other great coupons if I can remember them. Everything is starting to blend together, I've been working on this since last Saturday.

Remember that you just need to get to $30, you don't have to buy 10 of one item if the price is listed as 10 for $10, or 6 if it is 6 for $6. Just buy the amount you want of each as long as your final total is $30 of the participating products.

I'm going to list the prices for each item after the money back and then add the coupons I can remember. I'll Bold each new item because the list will be quite long. Just remember the price in bold if BEFORE COUPONS so most items will be much cheaper then the bold price. I will change the color of all items that are free or make an overage after coupons.

It's been brought to my attention that I use my own vocabulary, but haven't ever made a post explaining what I'm talking about. Sorry. Sometimes I think that most of you already know what I mean.

I'll try to make a list of common abbreviations that I use so that you can tell what I am saying. I'll label it Abbreviations and it will be on the right hand side of the blog so that you can you check it any time.

I'll try to remember all the ones that I use, but I might made a couple of posts as I add new ones or remember that I forgot something.

OYNO-On Your Next Order
Commonly refers a coupon that prints at check out. Usually this is a reward for purchasing a specific items or amount of items. It is for $X and can usually be used for any item you wish. Some restrictions do apply, but they differ slightly by store. Read the fine print on your coupon to make sure you know what it is good on.

MF-Manufacture coupon

TC-Target coupon
Usually found at Target.com. Occasionally there are Target coupons found in store on items. Target.com coupons are good for 4 weeks. They will be on the Target web site for 2 weeks before they are replaced by new coupons. Hotcouponworld.com and AFullCup.com both have coupon generators with all unexpired target coupons. You should be able to print out as many coupons as you like.

Coupon found at a store, located in the little black boxes that blink

Peelie
Coupon found in store, on a specific product. Can be peelied and used on your purchase or saved for another day.

RR-Register Reward
This is a Walgreens specific name for OYNO coupons. One thing to note with register rewards is that you can not use them on the same product they printed out on and receive another register reward.
--I.E.
Buy toothpaste for $4, receive a $4 RR. If you take the $4 RR from the toothpaste and use it to pay for a second tub of the same toothpaste you will not receive a RR on your second purchase.

Catilina
Name of company who produces and manages the little coupon machines found at registers in most stores. This is the machine that prints the OYNO and RR coupons. At times it will also print out different coupons or ads for new products. People often interchange Catilina with OYNO when talking about a deal with a print out for money off your next order.

BOGO-Buy One Get One
When I only write BOGO I am referring to by one get one free. If it is anything other then free I will list if after the BOGO.
--I.E BOGO 50% off=Buy one get one 50% off. Most of the time it isn't a good deal unless it is free because BOGO 50% means each item is only discounted 25%.

ECB-Extra Care Bucks
These are the coupons you get at CVS for buying specified items. They are good towards anything in the store except gift cards and prescriptions. Some people have talked about being able to use them on gift cards, but I have never tried so until I know for sure I will say, no gift cards.

IVC-Instant Value Coupon
This is a coupon in the Walgreens ad. Usually only good for one week.

ESC-Easy Saver Coupon
Coupon located in the monthly Walgreens book. Usually the dates do not run all month long, but instead can be a little under a month or a little over. They tend to put the expiration date at the end of a week instead of the end of a month. Check the coupons for the exact dates

OOP-Out of Pocket
The total amount of cash that it took or will take to purchase items. This is usually after all coupons and discounts. If it is different I try to explain in the post

$X/Y
Amount of money a coupon is for and how many items need to be purchased to fulfill the coupon requirements.

Y/$X
How many items can be purchased for a specific amount of money after coupons and discounts.

Price match
Taking an ad for one store and being able to purchase it for that price at another store. Walmart will price match competitor's ads. I often being my Aldi ad to the Super Walmart in town. I have found the produce is higher quality. It also saves a lot of gas not having to drive all the way over to Aldi.

This is also a great idea for Black Friday is you don't think you will be able to get to a specific store before the amount of products is gone. I will worn that that few Walmart employees know how to price match and it does take a while to get it taken care of. If you are willing to wait you can save a lot of money.

Black Friday-The day after Thanksgiving
I'm sure there is some long explanation, but I'm not sure totally what it is.

MM or $M-Both can be used for Money Maker
This is when you combine different offers so that not only is the item free, but the store will end up owing you money. Rarely will they pay you cash out of the register. Often what you will need to do if you know you will have a money maker is get a filler to add to your order so that your balance is not below $.00 after all coupons and discounts.

Occasionally you will find a MM that prints out an ECB, RR or OYNO coupon so that you can use that money later on something you really want.

Filler
A filler is anything you need or want that you throw into your order so that your balance is not below $.00 after all your coupons have been scanned.

Overage
Pretty much the same as a money maker. After the sale, and coupons you will have a discount that is more then the cost of the item. You will need to add a filler so your order isn't under.

It helps to total your order before you go so you know how much overage you have and can get something you really want. When I started I would often have an overage, but not realize the correct amount so I would just grab candy at the checkout instead of something I could have really used.

$X/OYO-Money off on your order
Occasionally there are in ad MF for a specific amount off your order when you buy X amount of qualifying products. It has always been explained to me that being the coupon if off your total order you can still use MF for the specific products you are buying to qualify for the coupon. The Shakopee Cub has started to argue this point in the last few months, but this is the only store I have had a problem at.

So I think we all can agree that at times I am a little crazy with my coupons. Not as much lately as in times past, but maybe today changes that.

Here is my confession:

I just ordered 50 coupons for Glade Plug-In Scented Oil Warmers. They are BOGO coupons. Here is the kicker though. I actually paid $.50 per coupon. Yep, that's right, I just spend $25 on coupons. $34.28 actually, but that's not part of the story right now.

Now, why is this post labeled gambling instead of confessions? Because I am playing the clock and betting against time that the coupons will get here on Thursday and I will be able to find 100 of the warmers before November 2.

This is the deal that I am wanting to get in on. I've been told that it is working at both Cub and Rainbow although only Cub has it listed.

Buy one Glade Plug-in Scented Oil Warmer for $4.57 + tax get $4 OYNO. With the BOGO coupon it would look like this.

We are going to Rockford this weekend. I think I counted 6 I could go to on the way there and then the on in Buffilo, plus a couple others I could hit on Sunday. That still means each store would need to have about 10 of them for this to work. It seems really stupid, but at the same time it turned out so well last month with the other Glade coupons that I wanted to try it again.

I would order no later then Monday night/EARLY Tuesday morning in order to give you a little time to shop around. I have ordered as late as Tuesday night from here and have always gotten them by Saturday or before. I'm hoping my order will get here my Thursday if not Wednesday. Here is a coupon for a free hot drink at Barnes & Noble. It is an IP and good until October 31 so there is plenty opportunity for free coffee.

The bold print says cappuccino, but the find print at the bottom also lists latte, cappuccino, expresso, coffee, or hot tea. It looks like hot chocolate is the only thing not included.

Karin suggested that it might be nice to know what I actually cook with all these random things that I buy. I've thought about it in the last, but at times we don't eat very exciting or healthy things. Usually not for a lack of food, but more for a lack of energy or creativity.

Well, for this week at least I'll let you know what we are having for supper. I try to have it planned out by Sunday night or Monday because otherwise I tend to not be able to think of things and we just eat things like soup, pasta, or grilled sandwiches.

I usually just plan supper. We will having leftovers usually for lunch or I'll make Noah something that he asks for and have a little of that myself. One of my problems is I tend to make family sized meals for 2.5 people, cause of this you'll notice that Saturday is usually clean out the fridge day.

If I get really ambitious I'll try to write out what goes into my meals and how much they actually cost. I can't always remember because some of them use ingredients I bought a long time ago, but I'll do my best if I have time.

Left overs. Most of the weeks will feed 4-6 so even with Jason taking some for lunch most days there is always things left in the fridge at the end of the week.

Well, I hope this gives you an idea of what I am able to make with all those random things that I bring home. As you can see sometimes I freeze or store things for a long time. I am constantly going through the pantry and pulling things to the front that need to be used up. Usually I am able to work them into the menu, but occasionally I still forget about them and then end up getting tossed. Case in point is the teriyaki sauce that I found tonight while getting out the olive oil. It expired about two weeks. It's probably still fine, but some things I just don't like to chance it.

Update I found a $1/4 IP for the Yoplait. It's a Brinks so you should be able to print 2 from each computer. If you are able to get 4 IPs then it will bring your OP down to $2.50 on 20, plus you will get the coupon for 2 free at checkout. Brings the per cup cost down to just over $.11 each. Great Price!!!

Was at the Cub in Shakopee after church this afternoon and they had tubs of Curly's pulled pork, beef, and chicken on sale for $1. There are blinkie coupons out from a while ago for $1/1. I had two coupons and used both, but I think the expiration date on them was sometime in December.

They are only available until the supply is gone. At 1:00pm they were fully stocked, but I saw lots of employees going back to get them as they went on break.

The tubs are a little over 1lb so even without the coupon it is a great price. The expiration dates on the tubs I grabbed were all in December so there is a long time to use them up. I believe they also freeze well.

There is also a good deal on Yoplait Yogurt. Buy 20 for $10, get $2 off with the in ad coupon. You also get a Catilina coupon at the register for 2 free cups of Yoplait. There are also coupons out for them. I think the best coupons I could find were $.40/6 cups and then also 1 free cup WYB 6.

Target has not IP coupons out this week. There is a coupon for $1.00 off 1 to 3 lb bags of Green Giant baby carrots. 1lb bags are on sale this week for $.99. Looks like it is a great time to stock up on carrots!

5 Cans of Progresso Soup for $.50. Free after only one MF coupon

I just saw this posted and haven't confirmed yet, but did get the ad in my junk mail so I know at least in theory it should work.

Byerly's has Progresso soup on sale for 10/$11. There is also a sale that for every 5 General Mills participating products you get $5 off your order. Progresso is one of the products.

The deal should work in sets of 5 like this

There are also MF coupons out for these. I think they are $.50/2. I know I ordered some a few weeks ago and wasn't able to use them at Rainbow. I felt really bad about wasting them and now I am jumping up and down because it will make this into a small money maker.

It is reported that they are limiting this to 20 cans per person. Not sure if this truly means per person, or per transaction as there is usually some leway between the two. The deal is only available until October 9, so hurry and get your soup!!!

I'm starting the budget for October. Because of the Glade deal it is a little hard to have exact figures. I had some Catilinas before the month started and being I didn't do anything for September this first post might look a little strange.

I don't seem to be doing very well keeping up with the blog. It seems like since school started I've been going a lot of other things and haven't even been turning on the computer. I have wonderful intentions to keep up with it, but it seems to be the easiest thing to let slip because I'm not really sure anyone actually reads this.

Another reason why the blog has been suffering is that we are expecting in April. Although I am feeling much better this time around, I just don't have the energy to stay up until 2 am most nights and type up grocery lists.

Hopefully as I start to have a little more energy I will be able to get caught up on things and be posting more often. I have gotten about half the coupons clipped and filed, but that still leaves around 20+ inserts to go through.

I'm going to start October's budget and completely skip over September. I probably spend around $95 instead of $85. Not too bad, but still over budget. Lately there have been a lot of free items or money makes which will make this coming month a great stock up month.

I'm not holding as close to the $85 as before. With being pregnant, I don't have the energy to find the great deals and drive around to get them. Plus, I want to make sure I am getting the extra tings the baby will need, which aren't always on sale. I don't really want to go over, but if I do I'm not making a big deal out of it unless it is by a whole bunch.
